Favorite Friday Five 1.26.18

January 26, 2018

I’m trying something a little new on the blog – sharing five of my favorite things from the week.

I’ll aim to push these out weekly, and would love to hear some of your recent favorites in the comments below!

Clinique “Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm”

I just finally finished off my tub of this stuff – it’s the best at taking off your makeup and lasts forever.

Even though it’s about $27 (depending on size), it has been great for my skin and I’m all about investing in what works for my skin (within reason). It’s a cult favorite for good reason.

Here’s a tip: you can scrape some out and put into smaller jars if you’re going on a trip instead of purchasing small ones and get the most bang for your buck.

Sleep On It & Boys Of Fall

Kayla showed me both of these bands, and dang, I just had to share them with the world.

This first song is from the band Sleep On It and we heard about it because the person featured on the song is the lead singer of one of our favorite bands (State Champs).

This next song is from a band Kayla randomly found called Boys of Fall and #blessed me with. This song is a JAM.

Sorry not sorry, it’s going to be stuck in your head all day.

David Sedaris

This is my most recent read from Sedaris:

Dress Your Family in Corduroy and DenimDress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim by David Sedaris

It’s definitely an odd cover that doesn’t have anything to do with the book. In a typical Sedaris fashion, this is a collection of short stories (and I believe is best in audiobook form).

My favorite story from the book is titled, Six to Eight Black Men, about Christmas in the Netherlands.

He’s even coming to Dallas this year on a press tour and there is a 96.74% chance you’ll see me there.

Interabang Books

Cassie introduced me to this bookstore on a rainy day a few months ago and it’s BEAUTIFUL.

They’re local to Dallas, have a lot of great recommendations, and you should totally check them out. They even put out a newsletter!

Lily Pebbles

I’ll round this out with my girl, Lily Pebbles.

I’m a huge viewer of “YouTubers” from all over the world, and figured this would be a good place to share the love!

Lily doesn’t just do beauty (she’s big on home and lifestyle and vlogs and even has a book out for pre-sale currently and co-hosts a great podcast with Anna), like you can see linked below. She’s British and a mega #girlboss.

Check her out on Instagram here and on her blog here.
