Happy Friday, friends! I’m back at it again with a new Favorite Friday Five – are you caught up?
Feel free to read this post while drinking some delicious coffee and listening to my favorite song of the week: Friends by Justin Bieber & BloodPop
Great British Baking Show
If you’re not watching this competitive baking show, open up Netflix (after you finish reading this, of course) or PBS and binge.
Each new episode is a different theme (such as cookies or bread, etc.), and they’re actually nice to each other. I get so frustrated seeing food-based competition shows that have contestants that are just plain mean (so if that’s your thing, this show might not be).
You really get invested in the bakers! I find myself rambling more often than you would expect about how excited I am that Martha just got engaged… Oops.
They had an American version for a little bit, buttttt British is best (and didn’t have any of the harassment claims like with one of the American hosts, oops).
I’m new to this brand, but it has quickly become one of the first products I pick up when my hair is looking “meh.”
I use it on dry hair after I’ve straightened by ends down. Is it horrible awkward and vain to say it makes me feel (dare I say) cool after using it?
I went to the Sephora website to get a bit more information, and found some notes for ya:
Beach Club’s fragrance features lush, vibrant notes of guava, coconut water, pink lotus, midnight violet, and vanilla. Gentle enough to use daily and on color-treated hair, this product is color safe with UV protection, vegan, cruelty-free, and formulated without mineral oil, petroleum, and gluten.
I love that it is a spray that doesn’t make my hair feel crunchy or dirty. It adds the perfect amount of texture to my super-straight hair.
This app (via the app store & the website, linked) first hit my radar when people were using the feature that tells you which painting you look the most like. Sadly, this functionality has never hit my area of the country – but that won’t stop me from exploring!
It’s basically a huge encyclopedia of all things arts & culture. Because it’s hooked up to your Google account, you can save links and come back. Here are a few of my favorites:
Explore the Komodo National Park – using the power of Google 360 Street View
It groups things by themes, location, timelines, etc., so that you find just about anything. As a museum fanatic, this has been such a cool find.
For some reason (I assume the gloomy weather), I have been feeling so drawn to plaid. I’ve been using my plaid button-ups to layer under sweaters because they add an extra layer to keep me warm in the sub-zero office and (hopefully) make me look a bit more put together.
My favorite casual plaid button-up shirt is actually from the men’s section at Target, and my “fancier” favorite is from JCrew!
Aussie Aussie Aussie! My girl Sarah is a fitness fiend, food goals, and is living my best life off the coast of Sydney.
BONUS: This awesome video from Butch Hartman where he simultaneously broke my heart and made me cry happy tears
