Tweet Cute | 2020 #13

Tweet Cute by Emma Lord came on my radar immediately through Goodreads’s suspiciously good artificial intelligence.

This book is a great fit for anyone interested in technology, social media, and a lot of cheesy – but adorable – YA romance tropes.

The two main characters (Pepper and Jack) are opposite in many ways, but similar under the surface, in a way that is all too familiar and endearing. The two resemble Romeo and Juliet in the way that they’re both slowly falling for each other while simultaneously running their rival families’ restaurants Twitter accounts.

This book is a great escape from reality and I loved all of the pepper-jack cheese.

In Tweet Cute, the main character bakes quite a bit, with the “Monster Cake” as a standout. The author created a recipe for Monster Cake as a response to the fan response – check it out here.
